Brushing before breakfast is often kinder to your enamel. Many breakfast foods and drinks are acidic (fruit, juice, coffee), which softens enamel temporarily — brushing straight after can polish away some of that softened surface. If you do brush after eating, waiting around 30 minutes lets saliva neutralise the acid first.
