Composite Bonding

Composite bonding has become something of a trend in recent years — but at Sorriso, it's never been a fad.

It's been a core part of how we transform smiles for years, long before it found its moment in the spotlight.

Why we've always rated composite bonding

Composite bonding is a versatile, minimally invasive way to close gaps (diastemas), reshape and recontour teeth, repair chips, and refine the overall lines of a smile — often without touching healthy tooth structure at all.

We've been using it as a core part of our treatment for years, not because it's fashionable, but because, done well, it delivers genuinely natural, long-lasting results.

Your composite bonding journey

It starts with a consultation: a full check-up, photographs of your smile, and an open conversation about what you'd like to change.

From there, we'll often create a digital mock-up of your planned new smile, so you can see exactly what we're proposing before anything happens to your teeth — nothing goes ahead until you're happy with the plan.

Once agreed, we transfer that design to your mouth using one of a wide range of composite materials and shades, carefully layered, shaped, contoured and polished to blend seamlessly with your existing teeth.

Getting the best possible canvas first

Many patients choose to pair their bonding with a hygiene visit beforehand, to give us a clean surface to work from, and home whitening, to lift your baseline shade first — giving the best possible canvas for the bonding itself.

Aftercare and keeping it looking its best

Afterwards, we'll always talk you through the right aftercare — including using the correct toothpaste, so you're not inadvertently damaging your new bonding, and how to look after it day to day at home.

We'll also recommend periodic maintenance visits with us, to keep your bonding looking its best and catch any small wear or damage before it becomes a bigger issue.

For simple cosmetic concerns, it really is an excellent option — effective, natural-looking, and easy to maintain with the right care.

Thinking bigger than one or two teeth?

Composite bonding is brilliant for targeted, simple cosmetic changes — but if you're picturing a more complete transformation, it's often just one piece of a bigger picture.

Many of our smile makeovers combine bonding with veneers, whitening, or subtle orthodontic movement, tailored entirely to what you want to achieve.

Looking after your bonding

Do:

❉ Brush twice daily and floss once a day, as with your natural teeth

❉ Keep up regular hygiene visits — a professional clean helps prevent surface staining building up

❉ Book in for periodic maintenance checks with us, so we can catch and gently polish out any small wear before it becomes noticeable

❉ Wear a night guard if you grind or clench, since bonding (like natural enamel) can wear down under that kind of repeated pressure

❉ Minimise staining drinks like coffee, tea and red wine where you can — composite resin stains more easily than natural enamel over time, but there's no need to cut them out, just worth being a little mindful

Don't:

❉ Use your teeth as tools — opening packaging, holding pins, biting nails

❉ Chew ice, pen lids, or other hard non-food objects

❉ Skip a check-up if something feels different, even slightly — small issues are far easier to fix early

Composite bonding typically lasts around 5–10 years with good care — sometimes longer. The material is durable, but it isn't quite as strong as natural enamel, so it responds well to a little extra mindfulness, without needing anything complicated or restrictive day to day.
